Canine Consultants draws from the worlds finest scenting stock. These dogs are usually German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retrievers, or Bloodhounds.  (On occasion other breeds are deemed suitable). They are meticulously and methodically trained to track human odor (dead or alive).  

Additionally, the dog is trained to track human scent on a wide variety of terrains as well as conditions.  These include fields, wooded areas, paved roads, and the like.  The training program provides the handler with two weeks training at this location (South Carolina) with the dog. Additionally all in service training will be free of charge at this location with the original handler.

Cost $2,500 plus the cost of the dog

Dual-Purpose Dogs

Like all Canine Consultants dogs, these are also hand picked from the best available stock worldwide. A Dual Purpose Dog is one that is capable of ALL aspects of police work (obedience, article search, evidence recovery, tracking, criminal apprehension, handler protection, building and area search). The Dual Purpose Dog is also capable of either narcotic detection or explosives detection, but not both.  There are serious legal issues that may arise by combining narcotics and explosive detection.  The training program provides the handler with two weeks training at this location (South Carolina) with the dog. Additionally all in service training will be free of charge at this location with the original handler.
